@FergalBowers @rtenews Funny, we’ve only been hearing for weeks now about cases rising and raging rampant in the community and only now he thinks is the time to ramp up testing capacity……such good management and planning.

@FergalBowers @rtenews the appointment slots for Friday onwards for three days in the systems are about 5k a day lower that I expected this evening. May be a temporary thing.

@FergalBowers @rtenews "If you have a positive antigen test, book a pcr test to confirm." They should make a decision to forgo this requirement then, if they cannot keep up with the demand.

@FergalBowers @rtenews Great credit due to the many working flat out to achieve such a high volume of tests already.

@FergalBowers @rtenews Remember @CMOIreland telling the Dáil committee that we didn't need to consider antigen testing because we had ample PCR testing capabilities?

@FergalBowers @rtenews Why bother with PCRs? Does it really make any difference? The hospital/ICU admissions tell us all we need to know. But, no harm in wasting another few hundred million taxpayer's euros on pointless testing, what would we do with it other than build a few more overpriced hospitals!
