The miracle of a highly effective vaccine is not only good for our health, but it's opening the door to calling things what they are, and to finally just accept that a lot of "vaccine hesitancy" is just attention-seeking behavior.

Watching @JalenRose on @donlemon and he makes an excellent point on an easy reform: Increase penalties — including firing — for falsifying a police report. If you can’t truthfully report what happened, you can’t wear the badge. This cannot possibly be controversial.

Very interesting theory from @AshaRangappa_ explaining the dismay in some conservative quarters over the Chauvin trial: it's not the verdict itself, it's the signal it sends about the disintegration of old (and politically exploitable) tribal boundaries. https://t.co/u81ooYLDIM

@WalshFreedom @MaxBoot Joe, I’ve been thinking about this because honestly I’ve been super depressed that these folks have chosen objecting to the Chauvin trial (of all things!) as their hill to die on, and it makes no sense. Like, why?? This was an EASY case (in terms of right/wrong) 1/

Asha, you nailed it. It’s about market share. They’re afraid of losing their base, their audience. So they must keep their base misinformed, riled up, & pissed off. They know they can’t directly say the verdict was wrong, so they blame the verdict on an old trope. @MaxBoot. https://t.co/VKkjE5VPzJ

@WalshFreedom @MaxBoot And when you no longer have easy tribal fissures which you can exploit, their entire model — including their business model — is threatened. And it also shrinks their base, bc you have to rely on people with increasingly extreme to sustain you. So they are panicked.

The sheriff insisted that, if you think the police are mistakenly arresting you or otherwise doing things they shouldn't, members of the public should simply submit and deal with the officer's actions later, in court. I guess the sheriff doesn't know about qualified immunity.

NEW: Republicans in 34 states have introduced legislation to crack down on protestors. They'd bar people from student loans & state aid, boost penalties for unlawful assembly and immunize drivers who strike protesters in the streets. w/@PatriciaMazzei https://t.co/fHULDiIKHR

Perhaps this is the story that @TuckerCarlson was trying to get ahead of. In his college yearbook, he listed himself as a member of the "Dan White Society." Dan White was the man who murdered Harvey Milk. https://t.co/TYklyfC8tS

Bet Chauvin will appeal on grounds that the jury found him guilty because they feared an acquittal would ignite a "riot." This argument worked for Miami officer William Lozano in 1989, after he was convicted for the fatal shooting of a 23-year-old Black man named Clement Lloyd

While the verdict in the Chauvin case provided some measure of justice for George Floyd, DOJ pattern and practice cases can provide systemic change to police departments. AG Merrick Garland is renewing them after four years of dormancy. https://t.co/AL7c3E274h

Thinking of Darnella Frazier who filmed the death of George Floyd at 17 and quite literally changed the world. She testified there are nights she stays up “apologizing & apologizing to George Floyd for not doing more.” But, she did so, so much to get to this murder conviction.
